BOMB DISPOSAL BY RICHARD ANSETT

Richard Ansett excels at capturing true emotions and depicting marginalized populations with care and sensitivity. In his latest work, he focuses on a bomb disposal unit for the British Army, recently returned from Afghanistan and Iraq. While not visible, they each have their own scars from their work, and for them, this is normalized. Ansett explores each soldier’s unique relationship to the incredible stresses of their collective work, but presents the images without their individual stories, allowing their interaction with his camera to give clues to the experiences that have shaped them in this moment.
