Mauricio Alejo is known for his intriguing, conceptual still lifes. Chronicled in the most recent issue of Vice, he presents photos shot in several of his apartments throughout the years. He never intended them to be autobiographical, but they have unwillingly become a personal memorabilia of sorts. Alejo is equally seduced by photography and by sculpture. He created all these images with 4x5 negative, still in love with the ritual and the built-in limitations of large-format photography.
