About the artist

Mike Hofstetter creates gorgeous, sharp, tactile images of food and those who create it. One can almost taste the fresh ingredients simply by viewing one of his photos. Hofstetter discovered a love for food early on. After high school, he completed a cook's training in the water tower in Cologne and dedicated himself to further gastronomic adventures in Germany, Italy and Australia. Cooking alone was not enough for Hofstetter - he wanted to immortalize the results on film, and his initial interest in photography was sparked by this desire. From there, he grew his photography skills and business, but never lost his passion for food and cooking. His deep understanding of food - from its roots to techniques - is clear in his work. Hofstetter is based in Hamburg, Germany, where he has his own studio and kitchen, but he also travels far and wide to capture that culinary spark.
