Jan Kriwol is one of the most interesting contemporary Polish photographers. The development of his photography and art is inextricably linked with the development of the Polish skateboarding scene. Strongly influenced by his "street, urban, skate” experience, Kriwol's images inhabit intriguing cityscapes. To these, he adds dashes of comic books and youth culture, creating a unique, easily identifiable recipe. Kriwol works extensively with optical illusions and visual jokes, and his images beg prolonged looks.
